The Beauty of Skin Exfoliation

One step many women miss in their regular beauty routine is exfoliating before applying makeup. Just as you would dust off a canvas before painting, you want to make sure your skin is not dry, dull or flaky. Applying make up to skin that is dry, dull or flaky could add 5 years to your look. When skin is properly exfoliated, moisturizers, foundation and concealers glide on better for a more youthful glow.

Your skin is constantly shedding, so you need to get the dead layers off.   Doing so really makes a difference in how easily you are able to apply your makeup. It also gets down to the new, attractive layers of dermis. If you think about it, your dead skin cells aren’t going to be vibrant with health because they are, well, dead. So getting rid of them will improve the glow of your skin, and promote a more natural glow with your make up.

Use either of our exfoliating treatments, 3 times a week to remove dead skin cells and purify the pores.

Choose either our enzyme renewing mask if you have sensitive skin, acne prone skin, oily skin or combination skin. Click to read about this skin renewing treatment

Or

If you do not have acne and would love to use both, use the micro retexturizing cream once a week to polish and refine your skin and use the enzyme mask 2 times a week to renew and purify pores.

How To Get Rid of Acne

1)Use a gentle cleanser to cleanse your face_____If you have acne, you should gently wash your face with a mild cleanser, once in the morning and once in the evening, as well as after heavy exercise. Avoid cleansers that are too drying on the skin. These types of cleansers can actually cause a reaction known as reactive seborrhoea, where the oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils, there producing more oil. Wash your face from under the jaw to the hairline and be sure to thoroughly rinse your skin. Avoid wash clothes, as they may cause acne sores o rupture. Using strong soaps or rough scrub pads is not helpful and can actually make the problem worse. Astringents are not recommended.
2) Resist the urge to pick on your skin_____Avoid rubbing and touching skin lesions. Squeezing, pinching or picking blemishes can lead to the development of scars or dark blotches.
3) If you have to shave, please do so cautiously_____People who shave and who have acne should test both electric and safety razors to see which is more comfortable. When using a safety razor, make sure the blade is sharp and soften your beard thoroughly with soap and water before applying shaving cream. Shave gently and only when necessary to reduce the risk of nicking blemishes.
4) Limit Sun Exposure_____Many actives that are included in acne products can make you more prone to sunburn. Using sun protection is very important while using acne treatment products. That notwithstanding, there are known risks of excessive sun exposure, such as more rapid skin aging and a risk of developing skin cancer.
5) Exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week with a non-invasive exfoliant._____This will help get rid of dead cells that can clog pores and cause acne. Exfoliation also helps clear blackheads and help reduce the appearances of discoloration.
6) Choose Cosmetics Carefully_____While undergoing acne treatment, you may need to change some of the cosmetics you use. All cosmetics, such as foundation, blush, eyeshadow, moisturizers, and hair-care products should be oil free. Choose products that do not clog pores.
